Throwback Thursday: Medal of Honor

Happy Thursday gamers! This week I wanted to do something different: I wanted to spotlight a Playstation game, a successful Playstation game. After looking through a few "Top 10" lists, I decided that game is none other than Medal of Honor.

Medal of Honor is the first title of the long running Medal of Honor series. The story was created by none other than Steven Spielberg and was written and produced by Peter Hirschmann for Playstation in 1999. The game features fictional character Lieutenant Jimmy Patterson, who was a former pilot and later recruited to the OSS. This first-person shooter, takes place during the end of World War II, and Lt. Patterson must work to complete objectives such as destroying enemy positions and killing German soldiers in the process.

Medal of Honor was well received and highly noted for it's music and storyline. GameRankings and Metacritic gave it great ratings and the game made it into IGN's "Top 25 Games of All Time" for Playstation. It's success was hard to beat, and we all know that its reception inspired additional Medal of Honor games. Spotlighting MOH this week is a no-brainer. It was undoubtedly a staple of Playstation gaming and we gladly welcome it to the GGR vault!
