Fariko Impact wins COD eSports Tournament

I dont know about you, but I was very excited to hear there was a professional COD eSports tournament this past weekend. I spent the entire weekend trying to download apps just a get a glimpse of the competition, and the finals were finally available Sunday on Xbox Live.

The finals came down to Fariko Impact and EnvyUs. Fariko Impact is part of the Fariko Gaming community, which is supposedly the largest organized eSports community for the COD series. The team included Damon "Karma" Barlow, Marcus "Mirx", Adam "Killa" Sloss, and team captain Chris "Parasite" Duarte. Fariko worked together to beat the favored EnvyUs by taking big risks and using smart gmaeplay and tactics to upset their opponents.

Even though the audience seemed half asleep, the energy coming from the competition was intense. Fariko and EnvyUs kept the competition close throughout the entire tournament, and went match for match until Fariko won their 6th game to clinch the tournament and $400,000.

The eSports competition has been inspiring gamers to get into the competitive playing field all weekend. COD gamers across the globe are gearing up for next season to take a crack at winning the coveted COD trophy and bragging rights for being the best team in the world.

In case you missed the action, here's a video of the last few rounds of Match 11.

We at GGR are excited to see what next season will bring. What did you think of the tournament and its competition? Has this inspired you to start your own COD team? Let us know in the comment box below or hit us up on Twitter!
