E3 Day 1: Sony Bares All

Today was the Opening Day of E3 and it did not disappoint. Microsoft and Sony opened the week long event with their conferences and gave us the coveted information we've been waiting for.

Sony's presenation was the second of the day and I was pleased to see they touched on most (if not all) of the gaps left at the PS4 reveal back in February. We finally got to see the console, and Sony even informed us it will support the used game industry. The presenters also gave VITA users some good news as well. Playstation VITA will have 85 titles available by the end of the year. These include existing Playstation titles and new ones as well: Batman Arkham Origins, Counterspy, Destiny of Spirits, Kill Zone Mercenary, Doki-Doki Universe and Tearaway. In addition to a wider variety of games, VITA will also offer Skype, Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Video, Redbox Instant, MLB, and Flixster apps available for its users.

The much anticipated "The Last of Us" also made another appearance at the conference. We learned that it will be available on Playstation Nation this Friday (6/14/13). Playstation staff was excited to announce PS4 will be launched with 30 new titles. 20 of those titles will be released this year and 12 are new IP. Infamous Second Son gave an excellent presentation which included a better look at the plot, characters and gameplay. On the other end of the spectrum, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag had a less than memorable presentation which left little to be desired. Other featured games included: The Order, Kill Zone Shadow Fall,  Knack, The Dark Sorcerer, Transistor, Watchdogs, NBA 2K14, and Madmax. Presenters were also pleased to announce that the Beta of Elder Scrolls Online will be first available for PS4.

Stayed tuned for more E3 updates!
