This week we've decided shed the spotlight on Pac-Man for Atari 2600!
The classic game was originally created as an arcade game in the 1980's by a 27 yr old living in Japan. Originally intended to be called "Puc-man", the name was changed to avoid any spelling errors with English-speaking audiences. As soon it was released, the game became an instant success. Pac-man became a household name and a billion dollar franchise. The game's success even inspired a TV series and a hit song, turning it into an infamous piece of gaming culture. Atari jumped on the bandwagon and released Pac-Man for their 2600 gaming console in 1982. Since then, Pac-Man has been diversified into different versions and remains a classic favorite!
