Maxim Gears of War Maps and Mode Revealed!

We came across this today and had to get the word out! Maxim magazine has sponsored Gears of War and revealed their map and mode that will be available as a free download on April 2nd!

Map: Haven
Once an ancient, monastery, this frozen wasteland is sure to create some chaos! Level designer Jim Brown states, “Nowhere is really safe. It makes for especially hectic Domination games because the rings are easy to access and difficult to defend.” The map is in a circular formation and all pathways will lead you back to the center. There's no hiding in Haven - you're going to be in the mix whether you're ready or not! Nick Leftley of Maxim Gaming reports "no matter which route you take, you’re going to be embroiled in a fast-paced, hectic battle."

Mode: Execution
In this mode, players must work to wipe out all of the opposing team members before time runs out. If enemies aren't hit with a one-shot-kill weapon, they'll go into a "Down but not Out" mode. Enemies will revive instead of die at the end of the bleed-out timer. To finish the job, players must perform an Execution.

I don't know about you, but we're stoked about this news. We're countin' down the days for Gears of War and this info makes us even that more excited!
