Steam Controller May Not Release Until October/November

It's been leaked that an unknown source told a PC gamer not to expect the new Steam Controller until late October/November. At Pax East, the source mentioned that the controller would precede the release of the Steam Machines which should be on shelves by the end of this year. Even though the comment wasn't officially made by steam, we think it's safe to say that these dates aren't too far fetched. What do you gamers think?
